Driving Casino Operations Through Technology and Innovation
With efficiency as the operational backbone
Casino operators are under immense pressure to run efficient, reliable businesses while meeting changing player expectations. Technology is central to solving that challenge, but innovation matters only when it delivers measurable results on the floor. At DR Gaming Technology™ (DRGT™), we’re both a supplier and operator. A combination that really matters because we don’t just design technology in isolation, we test features in our own sister (Infiniti Group) casinos first and tweak them live. The result is a versatile system that’s ready for the realities of the casino floor before reaching the wider market.
Player (and Reliability) First
Casinos succeed or fail on stability and uptime. At the heart of our Casino Management Systems (CMS), our patented drSMIB mesh network is designed with that in mind. Unlike traditional systems that rely on a permanent central server, drSMIB acts as a local controller that connects all floor elements with each machine synchronising its own game, player, and accounting data at source. Its peer-to-peer communication model keeps information flowing in real time, ensuring redundancy, security, and lower infrastructure costs, even in jurisdictions where connectivity is inconsistent.
Cashless Momentum
Likewise, since our early days in the market, DRGT™ has supported TITO, RFID, NFC, and now fully mobile-based payments. QR-linked bank transfers are particularly effective, allowing players to top up securely from their mobile phones (where legislation permits). Again, we tested this in our Infiniti Group Casinos, and it proved safer, faster, and simpler for players. Less cash handling also results in lower fraud risk and reduced maintenance costs for operators. Cashless was one of key technologies at the outset, and now we’re seeing real momentum. Operators aren’t just asking if they should go cashless, they’re asking how fast they can do it.
Rethinking Existing Technology
That said, not all innovation comes from new technology. Sometimes it’s about applying existing protocols and infrastructure in smarter ways to create efficiencies. Our systems are protocol-agnostic, which means they’re compatible with SAS, ASP, NSW, and BACTA. This allows operators to make use of new DRGT™ features without having to replace existing machines, not only extending the life of current assets, but also introducing modern capabilities like cashless and predictive reporting like our drAnalytics.
From Reporting to Forecasting
drAnalytics is a great example of how operations and innovation converge. Instead of reporting on past performance only, it anticipates what comes next. Data becomes forecasts that help operators act faster. They can easily identify the machines that deliver the best results, track player behaviour across venues, and predict when maintenance is needed. These data-led insights make it possible to maximise floor layouts, tailor rewards, promotions and jackpots, and address issues before they disrupt play.
Proven in a Live Environment First
As both a developer and operator, DRGT™ occupies a unique position in the industry. Innovation at DRGT™ always translates into real value on the floor, if it doesn’t, we don’t deploy it. Given that new products are first trialed in actual casinos, we know they work under real conditions before adapting them to suit diverse regulations. Operators get systems that are ready to deploy without costly customisation. Simply put, our products are grounded in operational realities rather than theory. It’s why DRGT’s system is active worldwide, in markets with very different legal frameworks, cultures, and technical requirements. Our modular, protocol-agnostic design allows flexible international deployment, providing operators with a system that is both globally proven and locally compliant.
The Bottom Line
The future of casino operations is already taking shape. Forecasting has replaced simple reporting, cashless adoption is accelerating, and integration across gaming, hospitality, and entertainment is becoming the norm. These aren’t abstract trends; they’re changes we’re already building into our system and testing on real casino floors - that’s what gives us confidence in the direction ahead. For us, the core principles that drive everything we do never change. Every innovation must make casinos run better, improve the player experience, and deliver tangible operational and financial outcomes.
